Agenda for 2018 now available

The schedule is set for the 2018 Power Up! Alberta Entrepreneur’s Conference.

The conference is expanding this year with a hospitality evening the night of Monday, November 5 at the Big Rack Rentals Cow Palace at Olds Regional Exhibition. The evening’s purpose is showcasing local businesses that help to put Olds on the map, from small start-ups to expanding enterprises. Appetizers and a cash bar will be available as guests network and build connections leading into the full conference day on Tuesday.

The morning starts Tuesday with Registration and Check-in, and following opening remarks, futurist Nikolas Badminton will take the stage to open our conference. Following his presentation, three break-out sessions allow guests to join small groups of special interest and learning. The morning sessions will feature Catapult Entrepreneurs’ session, “Entrepreneur 101”, a brand-building session with Dwayne Holland titled “Positioned for Growth”, and Barbara May speaking to the topic of an integrated workforce, “Turning Stumbling Blocks into Building Blocks”.

A service provider showcase and lunch break allows for guests to continue networking and information gathering suited to their needs. Following these activities, popular social media speaker Joe Whitbread from Jo(e) Social Media Inc. will address the plenary group about the impact social media has in business today.

The afternoon break-out sessions will deliver content on sales and financing, with “Raising Capital” presented by Business Link, “The Pitch” from ATB’s Hannah Cree, and “The 10 Most Powerful Questions You Should Ask in Every Sales Meeting” with Kim Orlesky. Finally, ATB’s Vice President and Chief Economist Todd Hirsch wraps up the day with his closing keynote address.

Registration is now open on Eventbrite.com. Tickets to the Monday evening event are included for registrants to the conference, and are $25 if not attending the conference.
